1/15 Coffee

A wood slatted interior wall with dramatic afternoon light falling across a long communal table and chairs

Nathalia Gunawan opened 1/15 Coffee on Jalan Gandaria in June 2012, one of the first Jakarta cafes built around Melbourne style specialty coffee rather than instant sachets or hotel lobby espresso. The name comes from her preferred brew ratio of one part coffee to fifteen parts water. Wood paneling, exposed concrete and floor to ceiling windows wrap around long communal tables in the original space, and the format proved popular enough that later branches followed in Menteng and Kemang.

Single origin espresso and filter coffee anchor the drinks list, with a tasting flight for guests who want to compare origins side by side in one sitting. The kitchen runs a full brunch program built around eggs, granola and avocado toast, and the churros with chocolate sauce draw as many regulars back as the coffee itself.
