Karaffu | Coffee Culture

Karaffu runs its espresso through a La Marzocco machine on a corner storefront where the outdoor tables spill onto the sidewalk most afternoons, a short walk south of the Triumphpforte arch. Pour over is brewed by hand alongside the espresso menu, and the ceremonial grade matcha comes from farming contacts the owners keep in Uji, Japan, whisked to order rather than poured from a premade base.
A house bakery turns out the shop's signature pistachio cake along with turmeric and other plant based flavors, giving the counter as much to look at as the coffee bar itself. The Innsbruck original has since added a second location in Salzburg, though this Leopoldstraße shop remains the flagship, busy enough on weekends that seating inside runs short before the tables outside do.
