XELA Coffee Roasters

XELA roasts specialty and exotic coffees in Houston and serves them from its Richmond Avenue home in Montrose, a sit down cafe that opened in June 2026 after years at a walk up window. The name nods to Quetzaltenango, the Guatemalan city known locally as Xela, and the roastery dates to 2014.
Everything is made in house, from the roasting to the brewing, with a quality grader certified team behind the coffee, and syrups and toppings are made on site. Bags include the Obsidian espresso blend and single origins such as Ethiopia King of Guji and El Salvador Las Delicias, with bulk coffees for cafes and offices, and they are sold online and at the shop, which is open Tuesday to Sunday from eight to four.
