Cavo Coffee

The airy interior of Cavo Coffee with a marble bar, high communal table and a long copper light running across the ceiling

Cavo Coffee is a West University cafe near the corner of Kirby and Bissonnet, serving coffee roasted next door at Cleo Roasting Co., a sister project named after the team's French bulldog, where glass windows look onto the roaster. The bar pours drip and single origin drip, pourovers, a full espresso menu from cortado to flat white, and a rotating barista's choice drink, with oat, almond, soy and coconut milks available.

Syrups include honey lavender, pandan and sweetened condensed milk. The food side runs from breakfast tacos on house made flour tortillas to pastries, earl grey and honey scones, a honey butter biscuit and empanadas, and Cleo's bagged coffee is sold in the cafe and online. Tables are sized for a laptop and a notebook, and weekday mornings tend to be the easiest time to find parking.
