Boomtown Coffee Understory

This Boomtown counter sits in the atrium of the Understory food hall beneath downtown, a white topped bar with pale wood stools under a high ceiling and veined stone walls. The hall opened in 2019 at the base of the Capitol Tower, with several entrances from the downtown tunnel system and a broad staircase leading down from the street.

It pours the same house roasted coffee as the Heights original, including the Spindletop house blend, for downtown workers and visitors, and bags of that blend, a honeyed Costa Rican and a decaf can be ordered online. Hours follow the working week, Monday to Friday from seven to four, with a short Saturday from eleven to three.
