Boomtown Coffee Heights

The Boomtown Coffee storefront in the Heights with a round sunburst sign, an oil derrick motif and patio tables and chairs under the awning

Boomtown roasts its own coffee in Houston, and this West 19th Street cafe is the original, easy to spot by the sunburst sign over the storefront. A small patio with tables and benches sits out front, and a bright, wood furnished room runs back inside.

The house blend is Spindletop, named for the Texas oil discovery and built from a washed Colombian and a washed Mexican coffee, with notes of milk chocolate, roasted nuts and dark fruit. A honeyed Costa Rican, a decaf and a cold brew blend round out the roasts. The kitchen serves breakfast until eleven on weekdays and until one on weekends, and the cafe is open every day from seven in the morning to seven in the evening.
