Uncle Ben Coffee
Uncle Ben Coffee opened in 2021 in a tiny ground floor unit on King Wah Road, run by a long haired barista known simply as Uncle Ben and his Italian Greyhound, Dor Dor, who holds the title of shop manager. The room is mostly standing space at the counter, with a single small table outside, and the blue and white branding gives the corner a look all its own.
The beans are roasted by Uncle Ben Coffee Roastery and lean into experimental processing, with co fermented, lactic fermented and yeast fermented lots from Colombia and Kenya sitting beside cleaner washed coffees. Pouring the same coffee into two differently shaped cups, to show how the vessel changes what you taste, is part of the fun. Uncle Ben also teaches latte art workshops in the shop.
