The Workshop Coffee

The Workshop is a pioneer of specialty coffee in Ho Chi Minh City, and it still holds the top floor of a century old colonial building on Ngo Duc Ke Street, up four flights from a modest street door. At the top an island counter anchors a room of exposed brick, concrete floors, iron framed windows and a high A frame roof, with bar seating along the walls and long communal tables for groups.

Coffee is roasted in house, with Vietnamese arabica alongside beans from other origins, and brewed through V60, Chemex and Kalita Wave filters, syphon and espresso. Big windows on three sides fill the room with daylight, so it makes a calm place to settle in above the bustle of Dong Khoi.
