Koul Microbakery

Koul Microbakery occupies a corner plot at the junction of Agiou Mina and Gerasimou Pardali in Heraklion's old town, a small bakery and coffee counter built around fresh baked focaccia, cinnamon rolls and a short, carefully chosen coffee list. Visitors single out the Ethiopian beans on rotation for their nutty character, several calling it the best specialty coffee they found anywhere on Crete.

The bakery keeps its own early hours rather than a standard cafe schedule, closing in the afternoon on Monday and Wednesday but staying open into the evening the rest of the week, and shutting entirely on Sunday. A shaded corner terrace out front and a floor that welcomes both dogs and kids make it an easy stop for a quick espresso or filter coffee between old town sights.
