Heraklion · Old Town, near Agia Aikaterini Square
Frankly

Frankly sits under the arcades on the south side of Heraklion's old town, its concrete and warm wood interior styled with a nod to Gone with the Wind, the source of both the name and the retro industrial look. The Roosters, an Athens roastery built around slow filter culture and hand brewing, supplies the specialty coffee that anchors a menu otherwise built around brunch.
Cold brew, cappuccino and straight espresso share the counter with plates like open avocado toast, shakshuka and cinnamon rolls, with tables spilling onto the square facing the cathedral. Outdoor seating, a kids menu and a floor that welcomes dogs make it as much a daytime gathering spot for locals as a stop for visitors passing through the old town arcades.
