Kahvila Sävy

Kaisa, the 2011 Finnish Cup Tasting Champion, and Mikko Sarén opened Sävy in 2010 out of frustration with the quality of coffee sold around Kallio, a neighborhood that's since traded its rougher reputation for vintage shops and restaurants. The cafe now belongs to Aleksi Kuusijärvi, a 2017 Finnish Brewers Cup Champion, and Sanni Sointula, a 2016 Finnish Cup Tasting Champion, who've kept the bohemian, record lined room and its reputation as one of the country's most decorated addresses for coffee.
Beans come from Good Life Coffee, a Helsinki roastery working in single origin and single estate lots, poured as espresso or filter alongside an all day breakfast of yoghurt, house granola, and croissants from Greenbake. The small room fills quickly once laptops settle in, and outdoor tables open up the corner during warmer months.
