Johan & Nyström Katajanokka

Johan & Nyström's Helsinki coffee bar fills a historic brick warehouse on the Katajanokka waterfront, where the sea sets the mood in summer and the thick walls make winter feel warm. Baristas pour specialty coffee and tea, with a few good beers and wines for later in the day, and the bar stays open until 22:00 on Fridays and Saturdays.

Johan & Nyström started in Sweden in 2004 as one of the country's first micro roasters, built around direct trade and openness about where each coffee comes from. This is its only Finnish bar, and the shelves hold their roasted coffees, teas and home brewing gear to take away.
