Blackbird opened on Chan Cam in 2018, a narrow Old Quarter house behind a burnt orange facade, with a few chairs on the pavement and a mezzanine upstairs for sitting longer. The team roasts its own coffee with the aim of getting Vietnamese beans onto the specialty map, and it sources them from growers in the country.

The bar covers espresso drinks, hand brews on a slow bar, phin filters and cold brew, with pastries alongside. The doors stay open until nine in the evening.
