Özlem and Cihan Sögüt opened their first small brew bar in Sternschanze in 2014, chasing the relaxed coffee culture they had found while traveling through the United States, before building their own boutique roastery in 2017, the large, window lined Ottensen space that now anchors the brand. The brand's bulldog logo is named after the couple's own dogs, Bandit and Snatch, names that also turned up on two of the house espresso blends.

Beans are roasted on site and sold both by the cup and in bags, alongside a coffee subscription for regulars who don't want to think about it. The room is built for lingering, floor to ceiling windows locals sit in the ledge of come summer, fluffy pancakes and breakfast bowls from sister bakery Black Apron, and a kids' toy corner that makes it one of the more family friendly specialty spots in the city. The operation has since grown to eight cafes across four German cities, nominated for Roll-Out of the Year at the industry's own Fizzz Awards along the way.
