Black Delight Kaffeebar

Black Delight has been roasting in Altona since 2008 under the motto Respecting Coffee, hunting the world for single origins and rare microlots from small farmers and cooperatives. Each coffee gets its own roast profile on a traditional drum roaster, test roasted and tasted again and again until the team finds its sweet spot, with every batch logged and a sample kept.

The Kaffeebar on Friedensallee in Ottensen is where the roasts come to life, a narrow room of raw concrete walls, warm wood, terracotta tiles and big photographs of coffee plants, with a hummingbird on the cups and the sign above the door. Espresso and filter coffees from the house roasts are made at the bar, bags line the shelves, and the roastery's barista school keeps the craft going in the neighbourhood.
