La Maru

La Maru runs a coffee bar and a working bakery out of the same all white, wood accented room on Koningstraat, sourdough loaves coming out of the same kitchen that bakes the pastries on the counter. Amsterdam's Five Ways Coffee Roasters supplies the beans, poured alongside Swedish cinnamon buns, Portuguese pastéis de nata and a coffee tonic.

Both indoor and outdoor seats are on offer, and the bread counter alone is worth the stop even before the espresso machine gets involved.
