Coffee Habits

Mick and Kevin ran Barmhartig, a coffee bar on Amsterdam's Veemkade, before an opportunity in Haarlem came up and they took it within a minute of hearing about it. They opened the original Coffee Habits on Smedestraat in 2019, an eight square meter room with room for three or four people at most, and the shop has since grown a second, larger location around the corner on Kleine Houtstraat.

Rotterdam's Manhattan Coffee Roasters, founded by Ben Morrow and Esther Maasdam, supplies the beans, and the small kitchen turns out cinnamon buns, croissants, brownies and a vegan banana bread alongside tea from Citea. The eight square meters make it one of the coziest coffee stops in Haarlem.
