Kafferäven

Per and Susanna started Kafferäven in 2013 on a simple aim, to trade the best coffee possible bought directly from producers they actually know, and have since moved the whole operation into Slakthusområdet, a converted meat packing district in Gamlestaden that's become something of a craft drinks hub. The roastery, shop, and bar now run out of separate buildings on the same small industrial site, retail beans sold a short walk from where the workshops and cuppings happen.

The Gamlestaden address puts Kafferäven outside the more familiar central Gothenburg coffee cluster, part of a wider push to turn the old slaughterhouse buildings into a destination for small, hands on producers rather than a strip of chain retail.
