Alkemisten

Kristian Hedborg runs Alkemisten with his sister Mikaela on a busy stretch of Hisingen since opening the Kvillebäcken cafe in 2015, building a reputation strong enough to win the Swedish Roasting Championship in 2019. Coffee here leans toward Vietnam more than the usual East African or Central American lots that dominate other Gothenburg counters, a deliberate point of difference for the shop.

The kitchen runs a full vegan and vegetarian lunch program alongside grilled sourdough sandwiches, built around local ingredients and a stated focus on connection as much as the coffee itself. A second Lindholmen location has since opened with its own roasting setup.
