Ottoman Coffeehouse

The high timber roofed main room of Ottoman Coffeehouse, with hanging lanterns, armchairs, antique tables and the espresso bar at the far end

Founded by two siblings and opened in 2015 on Berkeley Street, Ottoman Coffeehouse set out to be one of the first specialty Turkish coffeehouses in the UK. Ibrik coffee, simmered slowly in a long handled copper pot, is the signature, made from beans roasted in house in small batches, while specialty beans from roasters the team has sought out are also served as V60 pour overs and siphon brews.

The room takes its cue from the coffeehouses of sixteenth century Istanbul: low light, warm textures, armchairs and mismatched antique furniture, and no pressure to leave. The kitchen is the shop's own, with gluten free and vegan options and a choice of plant milks, and a shelf of hand picked beans can be taken home. It is walk in only, with highchairs available.
