Terarosa Coffee Factory

Terarosa Coffee Factory in Gujeong is where the company began in 2002, on a campus of red brick and concrete buildings set against mountains a short way inland from Gangneung's beaches. The cafe and bakery fill a tall industrial hall under exposed timber roof beams, and the roasting happens on the same grounds.

The coffee museum on the grounds runs guided tours several times a day with a coffee tasting included, and the company describes its approach as sustainable specialty coffee, looking after every step from the farm to the cup. The cafe opens daily from nine in the morning until eight in the evening, and there is a free car park, which is handy because the factory sits well outside the city centre.
