Coffeewerk + Press

The white townhouse front of Coffeewerk + Press with its wooden sign, a yellow framed window and open door, and a hanging flower basket

Coffeewerk + Press opened in 2015 in a four hundred year old townhouse on Quay Street, in the pedestrian heart of Galway. Daniel Ulrichs set it up as a place where specialty coffee sits beside Irish and international design, and the building is spread over three floors, with the coffee bar below, a design shop above and an art gallery at the top.

Coffee Collective of Copenhagen has supplied the house coffee since the very beginning, and the menu rotates through guest roasters from Ireland, Europe and beyond that buy on direct trade terms. Artwerk Press, a small art publishing house, works from the building and produces and curates work from local and international artists, with postcards, cards and prints for sale in the gallery.
