ROUND COUNTER

The round wooden counter at Round Counter with brass trim and a row of red coffee bean bags on top, a slatted timber ceiling, a flowering branch in a vase and lounge seating by the windows behind

ROUND COUNTER opened in December 2019 on the ground floor of an old brick building in Furukogarasumachi. It is a roomy, retro space with a U shaped counter and a wood panelled ceiling, and at the back is an atelier with sewing and embroidery machines where aprons, bags and drawstring pouches are made and sold alongside the coffee.

The owner worked as a barista at a Fukuoka specialty roaster before opening. Coffee is brewed by hand, mostly on a Hario V60, with a house blend and an Ethiopian blend as the regular choices, and the website sells beans, drip bags and cold brew bags.
