REC COFFEE began in 2008 as a mobile coffee truck and has grown into a Fukuoka specialty group led by a barista who is twice Japan Barista Champion and a World Barista Championship runner up. The Yakuin Station shop is a big ground floor room beside the station with about fifty seats and a terrace where pets of any size are welcome, open from early morning until midnight and later at weekends.

REC roasts its own coffee and aims to be an approachable neighborhood coffee shop rather than an intimidating specialist. Espresso is the base of the house flavor, and the baristas also train in hand drip brewing.
