FAKE IT COFFEE opened in April 2020 in Higashihie, a few minutes' walk from Higashihie subway station on the line out to Fukuoka Airport. It is mainly a bean shop that also pours drinks, and the neighbourhood treats it like a community hall, with regulars dropping in for a cup and a chat.

The owner roasts in house on a Diedrich roaster, offering a short lineup of blends and single origins sold by weight, and the drinks are made from the same beans. The interior is built partly from reclaimed building materials brought from overseas.
