BUNCA

BUNCA opened its original coffee bar on Kirchnerstraße in 2015, tucked beside the Commerzbank tower about five minutes on foot from Willy Brandt Platz. The room is compact and often busy at lunch, built around a Kees van der Westen Spirit Triplette that keeps a queue moving fast even when every stool is taken.
The house roasting style favors medium profiles built on chocolate, caramel and nuts rather than bright acidity, with FIVR and BOMBORA running as the two standing espresso blends and a Swiss Water processed decaf carrying its own notes of orange and honey. A house bakery supplies banana bread, carrot cake, muffins and pastel de nata, and the beans sold here explain origin, process and brewing method in plain terms for anyone building a home setup. Newer BUNCA rooms in Nordend and Westend offer more seating and later hours for a longer sit down visit.
