Brühmarkt

Brühmarkt grew out of Kaffeewerk Espressionist, one of Frankfurt's first specialty coffee shops when it opened in 2010, and now runs its own roasting program from this Bockenheim address near Bockenheimer Warte. A large shared wooden table faces the counter, with pale timber shelves stacked full of beans, grinders, brewers, filters and reusable cups, and pavement seating that fills up once the weather turns.

The espresso changes daily and spans a genuinely wide roast range, from bright and fruit led to rounder profiles built on chocolate and nuts, so asking what is currently pouring is worth doing before ordering. Filter gets the same range of attention across V60, Chemex, Kalita Wave, AeroPress, syphon and cold drip, and the shop runs brunch on Saturday and Sunday mornings alongside its usual cakes and pastel de nata. Takeaway cups follow a reusable deposit system, so confirm the return arrangement before walking off with one.
