Melaleuca Bakery + Bistrot

Queensland born Chloé Guest and Marco Cappellari opened Melaleuca in 2019, bringing an Australian and London cafe sensibility to a room overlooking the Arno. Chloé's background includes time under chef Heston Blumenthal before she moved into cafe management, and the pair built the shop around beans from Florence based D612 Coffee Roasters alongside a from scratch bakery program of house pastries and bagels.

The boho Scandinavian decor, ceramics, big windows, and light wood, gives the room a look that leans as much toward Melbourne or Berlin as Florence, and several tables get a direct river view. Brunch plates round out the menu for the international mix of remote workers and visitors who have made it a regular stop.
