Lucifer Coffee Roasters

Lucifer started as a small roaster on Kleine Berg before growing into a second bar behind the train station at Kennedyplein, and the roastery itself now runs from Bleekweg, on the site of the Netherlands' first matchstick factory, a history the shop's name plays on directly, lucifer being the Dutch word for a match. Every bag is roasted from beans bought through direct trade relationships rather than a broker, and the SCA membership and a shelf of regional and national titles back up the claim.

The accolades run deep: Best Coffee Shop in the Netherlands for 2023, and Best in Eindhoven across 2020 to 2022 and again in 2024, plus Best in Brabant for 2021 and 2024. A subscription service ships the same roasts sold at the counter, and laptops are welcome at the Kleine Berg flagship, a rarer policy among the city's smaller specialty bars.
