Monachus Monachus

Monachus Monachus takes its name from the Mediterranean monk seal, a species once common along this stretch of the Adriatic and now one of the rarest marine mammals in the world. The shop sits on Zagrebačka, out toward Gruž and away from the crowds working through the Old Town, in a small, design led room built around clean lines and warm wood.
Coffee comes from Kava Family, a roaster based down the coast in Split, served as espresso alongside vegan milk options and a short breakfast menu, with bagged beans available to take home. Dogs are welcome inside, laptops are fine at the tables, and a few outdoor seats make it a workable stop for anyone staying in the Gruž or Lapad direction rather than inside the walls. The shop closes on Tuesdays and keeps regular hours the rest of the week.
