Cogito Coffee Shop

Cogito Coffee Shop sits down a quiet lane inside the Old Town walls, close enough to the ramparts that the espresso machine competes with gulls for background noise. It is the Dubrovnik outpost of Cogito, the Zagreb roastery that pushed specialty coffee onto the Croatian coast at a time when the region was better known for wine and seafood than a good espresso.
The short menu runs through espresso, cold brew and filter coffee, poured through a hand painted blue and white La Marzocco machine, with plant based milk on offer and beans sold by the bag for anyone who wants to keep the habit going after they leave the city. A few outdoor benches and a shaded courtyard nearby give the shop room to spill outside its tight indoor space, and a resident cat tends to make an appearance for regulars.
