Proper Order Coffee Co

David and Niall opened Proper Order on Smithfield Square in January 2016, both of them serious competitors in their own right, David a two time Irish champion across Brewers Cup and Latte Art, Niall a repeat podium finisher in the Irish Barista Competition. The room sits inside a Georgian building, white walls, exposed brick, an original fireplace as the centerpiece, and Irish countryside photography on the walls instead of the usual coffee posters.

The house espresso has rotated through some of the country's better known names over the years, Square Mile early on, Coffee Collective more recently, alongside retail bags sold at the counter. Pastries come from a neighboring bakery, and the daily changing specialty drink, called the Slap And Tickle, keeps regulars checking the board. Dogs are welcome throughout.
