Frank Kavanagh and Peter Sztal swapped graphic design and banking for coffee in 2013, and Cloud Picker has been one of Dublin's most thoughtful micro roasters ever since. Their Pearse Street cafe sits in the old projector room of the Academy building, a small glass fronted space just off the busy street with the cloud picker sign glowing over the door.

Beans are roasted weekly to order at their roastery in Crumlin and sourced for personality rather than convenience, then brewed here on Slayer espresso machines and a dedicated filter setup. Sustainability runs through everything, from reusable cup discounts to coffee sold in refillable packaging, and bags of the house roasts, brewing gear and filters are on sale to take home.
