Clement & Pekoe

The brick fronted Clement & Pekoe cafe on South William Street with its gold awning, benches and stools out front

Dairine Keogh and Simon Cummins started Clement & Pekoe as a market stall in 2008 and moved into their South William Street flagship in September 2011, where it has been a calm, elegant corner of the city centre ever since. Chandeliers glow over a wall of black tea canisters, with benches and stools out front for watching Dublin pass by.

Tea gets equal billing, but the coffee side is carefully curated: direct trade beans from a rotating lineup of small roasters, including Climpson & Sons from London and Dublin's Imbibe and Upside, plus Pinecone from Wicklow and The Barn from Berlin. Staff are happy to help you pick a bag to take home, and the shelves are lined with brewing gear for AeroPress and filter at home.
