The Espresso Lab Roastery

This is the roastery of The Espresso Lab, founded in 2015 by Emirati entrepreneur Ibrahim Al Mallouhi, and it is where the beans are roasted on a Giesen machine just behind a glass wall from the coffee bar. A shelf of national championship trophies and bagged coffees runs above the counter, with bar stools and wooden tables on a bright concrete floor.

The Lab picks microlots and roasts each one to suit its character, and its team has won UAE barista titles in 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2025, Brewers Cup titles in 2016, 2017, 2021, 2023 and 2026, and the first UAE roasting championship in 2026. The warehouse unit is open Monday to Saturday for coffee at the bar and a bag of single origin to take home.
