Flat White Specialty Coffee

Founders Nasser Al Naemi and Maryam Al Bader opened Flat White on La Croisette in 2016, the year specialty coffee first properly arrived in Qatar. Al Bader had spent eight years as legal counsel for Qatar Foundation before leaving law behind, and the pair studied for Specialty Coffee Association certification before opening, making Flat White the country's first SCA certified coffee shop.

The Pearl branch keeps the original marina front terrace under white umbrellas, tables spilling toward Porto Arabia's yacht basin. Beans roasted for the brand are sold by the bag alongside the espresso and pour over menu, and the kitchen side of the room runs a full breakfast and lunch service, though the espresso bar remains the draw that built the brand's name across the several other branches that followed across Doha.
