Novo Coffee Cheesman Park

Black and white view of the Novo Coffee Cheesman Park cafe on a street corner, with a brick facade, large windows and sidewalk tables.

Novo Coffee was founded in Denver in 2002 and describes itself as a pioneer of Colorado's coffee culture. It buys from the same farms year after year, sometimes through importers and sometimes directly from producers, with the aim of improving what farmers are paid and the quality of the coffee.

The cafe on East Sixth Avenue serves the neighborhoods around Cheesman Park and Capitol Hill. The company's tagline is Get Closer, and its roastery on Larimer Street offers Friday tours that end in a tasting of four coffees, plus classes in brewing, espresso, milk steaming and latte art. The cafe opens at half past six on weekdays and seven on weekends, and closes at five every day. The entrance is wheelchair accessible.
