Black Sheep Microroastery & Coffee

A seating nook at Black Sheep Microroastery, with exposed brick, industrial pendant lights, and a framed black sheep portrait on the wall

Black Sheep opened in 2017 inside Debrecen's Csapó utca market hall and has since grown into a small Hungarian chain with sister cafes in Nyíregyháza, Szeged and Gyula, plus a retro dessert spinoff back in Debrecen itself. The original stays the flagship, a winding, loosely arranged space that feels like a string of small rooms stitched together, each one worth a look before settling on a table.

A La Marzocco Linea Classic pulls the espresso shots while the shop's own roasted beans go home in bags for anyone who wants to keep brewing, and staff will run a cup through AeroPress, Chemex, syphon or V60 on request for guests who want something slower. The kitchen turns out Margherita pizza, burgers and a full breakfast and brunch menu alongside vegan dishes, cakes and iced coffee, busy enough on weekends that a queue at the counter is normal and a service charge gets added automatically for anyone staying to eat in.
