Houndstooth Coffee (Sylvan Thirty)

The Sylvan Thirty cafe is the West Dallas shop of Houndstooth Coffee, set in a mixed use development off Sylvan Avenue, and it is the one that has won design awards. A 360 degree bar puts the preparation of coffee in the middle of the room, so guests can watch espresso, filter coffee and cold drinks being made from every side.

Like every Houndstooth cafe it pours Tweed coffee, roasted by a sibling company founded in 2013 by Sean Henry and lead roaster Jonathan Aldrich, with the aim of balancing acidity and body. Beer, wine and cocktails are served too, and a hallway leads to Jettison, a separate cocktail bar that opens in the evening. The cafe itself is open from seven to seven every day, with Bishop Arts and Kessler nearby.
