Royalty Café

Three founders with backgrounds teaching and practicing barista work, a roast master among them, opened Royalty in October 2020, after years spent training others and wanting more creative freedom of their own. The project began small, roasting behind a store before growing into a full cafe in Centro, with the coffee menu built by tasting hundreds of samples from across Brazilian growing regions before settling on the current lineup.

The garden style patio out back gives the space a quieter counterpoint to its central location, and the shop has become enough of a local fixture that it has supplied coffee for touring theater and film productions passing through the city.
