Kaffe-Kantate

The storefront at Kaffe-Kantate at night, with the roaster and wine shelving visible

Master roaster Carlos Eduardo da Costa runs Kaffe-Kantate in Juveve, a name borrowed from Johann Sebastian Bach's Coffee Cantata, a comic piece about a father who disapproves of his daughter's coffee habit. The roastery itself was formally registered in October 2008, and visitors can watch the roasting and grinding happen in the same room where they sit down to drink it.

The menu runs coffee alongside wine and cake in one space, a combination that keeps the shop busy well past the usual afternoon coffee slot, with outdoor seating for anyone who wants to watch Juveve's street life go by while they wait.
