Prolog Coffee Bar

Set into the old Meatpacking District, where warehouse units that once processed livestock now hold galleries, nightclubs, and bars as often as meat wholesalers — Kødbyen's transformation from industrial zone to nightlife district is one of the more dramatic urban shifts in central Copenhagen, and Prolog is one of the few places in it open for a proper morning coffee rather than just evening drinks. Prolog roasts its own coffee at a facility across the harbor on Refshaleøen, an old shipyard island now dotted with creative businesses, and runs this bar as the retail sharp end of that operation — raw wood counters, painted concrete, nothing trying too hard.

It's a stand-and-go crowd on weekday mornings, mostly locals grabbing coffee before work, and a slower, more social scene on weekends once the surrounding Kødbyen bars aren't yet open and the district briefly belongs to daytime again. Beans are sold through their own webshop as well as, generally, at the bar itself. Prolog also runs additional locations at Randersgade, Frederiksberg, and Papirøen, each with its own character and hours.
