Original Coffee Illum Rooftop

Original Coffee's rooftop bar sits on the fourth floor of the Illum department store, a bright room of concrete floors, pendant lamps and wooden folding chairs, with big windows looking out over Strøget and the city's rooftops. It is where the company's first coffee shop opened in 2012, and the bar moved back to its original fourth floor premises in 2024. The room is a calm retreat above the busy streets.

Coffee comes from the company's own roastery in Carlsberg Byen, roasted on a Loring Kestrel, and the bar pours espresso, flat white and filter alongside pastries baked from scratch at its bakery in Kødbyen. It opens daily from ten in the morning until eight in the evening.
