Impact Roasters

Impact Roasters runs its Valby roastery out of Langgade St., a former railway station building turned into one of the most determinedly maximalist rooms in Copenhagen coffee: mismatched velvet armchairs, a wall of records and zines, hanging plants, and a ceiling painted somewhere between yellow and gold, more clubhouse than café. Beans come through the company's own direct trade model, buying green coffee straight from around 800 small farmers in the Ethiopian highlands rather than through importers, with proceeds funding water stations and education projects in the growing communities.
A second roastery and café operates on Griffenfeldsgade in Nørrebro, but the Langgade St. original set the tone: long hours, a packed events calendar, and a room built for lingering rather than a quick stand at the counter. The coffee itself stays simple and well made, light roasted and Ethiopia forward, which is really the whole point of the business model behind it.
