Van Dyck Espressobar

Van Dyck opened its first Cologne location on Körnerstrasse in Ehrenfeld in 2010, running for six years as a working roastery before the roasting equipment relocated to Mülheim. The Körnerstrasse address has since settled into its current role as an espresso bar and sales counter, still pulling shots and serving pastries from the same storefront.
Filter and espresso are made from organic, fair trade beans the team roasts under its own name, and regulars who bring back an empty tin get a discount on a refill. A pastel de nata and a small rotating cake selection cover the food side, and outdoor seating on the street gives Ehrenfeld's cafe crowd somewhere to sit with a bag of beans in hand.
