Kaffeesaurus

Interior of Kaffeesaurus with a wooden letterboard breakfast menu, a dinosaur skeleton logo on the wall, a coffee counter and pink cafe tables, one person facing away at the counter

Kaffeesaurus takes its name and dinosaur logo seriously, roasting its own coffee in house while running a full breakfast and brunch kitchen out of a bright, plant filled room just off Friesenplatz. Communal wooden tables, hanging greenery and a wall of letterboard menus give it the feel of a neighborhood canteen rather than a quiet coffee bar.

The espresso and filter program draws on single origin lots from Brazil, Ethiopia, Honduras and India through its partner Ally Coffee, served alongside smashed avocado, pancakes and eggs benedict most of the day. Kitchen orders stop earlier than the drinks counter, so anyone after a full meal should aim for a visit before mid afternoon rather than right before closing.
