Prequel Cafe

Prequel is a barista run cafe on West Chicago Avenue in West Town, where each day begins with freshly brewed coffee and baked goods made in house. Instead of a single house roast, the coffee menu rotates through beans from respected roasters around the world, and the drinks move with the seasons.

The room is long and light, with a perforated metal screen above the counter, a wooden communal table, plants, and a corner of prints and shirts for sale. A second Prequel, a bakery, sits on West Division Street in Wicker Park, while this original cafe stays open every day of the week, from seven in the morning until three in the afternoon, which makes it an easy early stop.
