Pedestrian Coffee

The glazed aluminium door of Pedestrian Coffee at number 939 with the name, a coffee cup pedestrian icon and the tagline Extraordinary coffee for everyday people etched on the glass, beside a grey panel and a dark brick base

Pedestrian Coffee was started by Tim Taylor on the belief that fantastic coffee is not just for the initiated and that great coffee does not have to be pretentious or inaccessible. The company roasts to order, so the beans are always fresh, and it buys directly from growers or through importers who build relationships with farms and co ops, with roughly two to three times the fair trade price going back to the producer.

The Lakeview cafe sits beside the Belmont L stop on West Belmont Avenue, with a walk up window, indoor seating and a patio tucked between the building and the station. Coffee is also sold as whole beans online, with shipping and order ahead for pickup. The cafe opens at seven on weekdays and at eight on weekends and closes at five thirty every day.
