Groundswell Coffee Roasters opened its second Chicago cafe on July 20, 2026, on the first floor of the Fine Arts Building at 410 South Michigan Avenue, the historic home of artists, musicians, writers and craftspeople since 1898. The room has views of Michigan Avenue and Grant Park, and it is the first cafe in the building in years.

The cafe pours an exclusive Groundswell and Fine Arts Building coffee roast alongside a full menu of espresso and other drinks, with locally baked pastries from the West Loop bakery Good Ambler. The building also houses the bookshop Exile in Bookville, and the cafe works equally well before a performance at the Studebaker Theater, after a rehearsal, or between studio visits. It is open daily from seven in the morning until seven in the evening.
