Gaslight Coffee Roasters

Tristan Coulter founded Gaslight in 2012, running it as both an in house roastery and a cafe rather than splitting the two functions across separate addresses. A food menu that draws real praise, its duck egg benedict a particular standout, sits alongside the coffee program rather than as an afterthought.

The shop has been profiled as a small business roaster building something durable rather than chasing rapid growth, and Logan Square's Milwaukee Avenue strip has grown up around it over more than a decade in the same spot.
